In a world of ambiguity this little guy quietly proclaims his masculinity behind a shadowed face and nondescript suit uniform. "I am a man" is reminder to never forget who your are.

Seems I don't know everything.
This symbol was used in the 60's as part of the civil rights movement. Black Men would walk around with huge signs over their shoulders proclaiming "I am a man". Gutsy right! Sad anyone had to resort to that.
